Abstract

1,092,833. Endless conveyers. R. L. AITKEN. June 30, 1966 [July 13, 1965; Oct. 27, 1965], Nos. 29737/65 and 45564/65. Heading B8A. A shoot 35 or rollerway (Fig. 3, not shown) is arranged to feed planks of timber in succession from a stack 1, to an endless elevator 24 which delivers them to a machine table &c. 33. The shoot 35 or rollerway is adapted to be maintained at a constant inclination while being lowered in accordance with the changing height of the stack. The shoot 35 is carried by a parallel linkage 31, while the endless elevator carries flights 29 and has a fixed frame. In another arrangement (Fig. 1, not shown), the endless conveyer is of the belt type and forms a member of the parallel linkage. In another construction (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) the parallel linkage is disposed transversely to the direction of conveyance.
