Abstract

560,243. Moulding concrete beams. SHIPWRIGHT, W. G., and ELLIOTT, A. C. Oct. 9, 1942, No. 14209. [Class 87 (ii)]. A roof-span beam mould comprises a base 7, standardised sideplates 6 with out-turned upper portions and secured by bolts 9 to the base, the joints of the members forming the base breaking joint with the joints of the side-plates. The ends of the base stop short of the ends of the sides so that a beam with deepened ends is moulded. The reinforcement for the beam is supported on cross bolts 9 positioned above the inner surface of the base member 7. The sideplates may be removed, leaving the beam supported on the base. The cast beam is T-shaped in section and slopes at its upper surface from its centre towards each end.
