[Classes 20 (i) and 20 (iv)] [Also in Groups V and XXX] A tubular or half-tubular shaped beam, column, pole, pole socket, sleeper or like member has apertures c, Figs. 1 and 3, in its walls, the parts 1 of the member at the sides of the apertures extending the whole length of the member and having longitudinal reinforcements 4, while the ring or half-ring shaped parts between the apertures have transverse reinforcements 6. The member may be stiffened by internal transverse concrete discs and may be formed with side extensions to receive attachment members. A centrifugal mould for making the members comprises a sheet metal casing 21, Fig. 21, with ribs carrying runners m. Inserts 21a project into the mould to form the apertures.
