Abstract

559,624. Gauges. LARSSON, H. Aug. 22, 1942, No. 11859. Convention date, Aug. 23, 1941. [Class 106 (ii)] An instrument for verifying the angle of inclination of the cutting edges of twist drills is characterized by a rectilinear part 1 against which the twist drill is laid, a plate 2 connected with and projecting from part 1 and provided with an edge 7 which is inclined in accordance with the angle of inclination of the cutting edges of the drill, and a slide 8 mounted on the plate 2 so as to be movable towards and away from the part 1 with means for securing it in position and provided with an edge 12 inclined in the opposite direction. An index 14 on slide 8 indicates the diameter of the drill on a scale 3. Plate 2 may be adjusted along the edge of member 1 and locked by screw 5, slide 8 being similarly adjusted with respect to plate 2.
