555,440. Feeding hoppers. HARTLEY, C. J. Feb. 12, 1942, No. 11666/43. Divided out of 555,325. [Class 78 (i)] A feed hopper o for powdered or granular material has a restricted outlet o<SP>2</SP> from which the material is fed slowly by a screw r on a vertical shaft q having stirring arms s disposed at different heights in a cylindrical portion of the hopper. The shaft q is driven through worm gear t from a motor (not shown). The hopper has a cover n and is fed by a side shoot p. The hopper may be used with the mixing machine described in Specification 555,325, [Group II].
