Abstract

1410360 Facilitating material flow from hoppers T KOKEISL 16 Nov 1972 [16 Nov 1971] 53065/72 Heading B8S A hopper 1 with a conical lower part 1a is provided with an agitator 11 designed as a scraper shaped like a spatula continuously curved backwards opposite to its direction of rotation. The agitator 11 has its leading edge 14 sharpened and resting on the part la with a certain preload, the agitator 11 having elastic flexibility. The agitator 11 is rotated through gearing 8, 9 and exerts a pressure component in opposition to the fall of material in the hopper 1, with the effect of loosening it. A screw 15 fixed to shaft 12 carrying the agitator 11 assists in feeding the material to a discharge aperture controlled by a slide 4 operated by a lever 3. In a modification (not shown) the hopper rotates.
