542,144. Grain turning machines. BURTON, F. G. M. June 24, 1940, No. 10830. [Class 86] A travelling machine for turning grain spread on the floor comprises a frame which is pivoted about a vertical axis and carries a horizontal rotary shaft fitted with stirrers, the frame being oscillated from one side to the other at the end of travel of the machine and effecting a reversal of the drive to the shaft. The stirrer shaft 10 is carried in a frame 8 pivoted at 9 to the main frame, and is fitted with a bevel gear 18 engaging either of two other bevel gears on a driven transverse shaft 20 when the frame is swung by means of a hand lever 17 and pin and slot connection 12, 14. The frame is carried on a pair of wheels 2, which may be driven, a third wheel 3 being mounted in an adjustable frame 4.
