Abstract

540,397. Buildings. GIBSON, W. F. July 2, 1940, No. 11127. [Class 20 (iv)] A framework for a building comprises rectangular or concrete-filled hollow asbestos-cement columns 1 surmounted by a metal collar 2 which receives the lower end of a roof truss 3, 5 also of rectangular hollow asbestos-cement members. The rafters carry metal collars 4 having branches which receive a horizontal member 6. The rafters meet at the top in a metal collar 7, and metal tie rods 8, 9 are provided. Purlins 10 are connected to the rafters by metal bands 11 passing over stirrups 11a.
