Abstract

644,256. Roofs. BLACKBURN (DUMBARTON), Ltd., HARGREAVES, W. A., and ROSS, G. S. Aug. 6, 1948, No. 20819. [Class 20(iv)] A prefabricated unit forming the hipped end of a building roof comprises a main truss composed of a beam 1, vertical and inclined members 2, 3, 4, with hangers 5 and braces 6, two half trusses having horizontal and inclined members 11, 12, 9, 10 in addition to the common vertical 2 and hangers 13 and braces 14, and a purlin structure composed of horizontals 15, 16, 19, 20, connecting the ends of the central hangers. Another pair of half trusses having horizontal and inclined members 25, 26, 23, 24, meet at their point of contact with a horizontal 31 joining members 11, 12, the unit being completed by members 32, 33 connecting these to the ends of the main truss. Corrugated aluminium sheets &c. forming the covering have sealing strips at the junction with the adjacent unit. Specifications 644,251 and 644,253 are referred to.
