Abstract

531,349. Fuel injectors. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES. July 19, 1939, Nos. 20968 and 20969. Convention dates, July 26, 1938 and June 9, 1939. [Class 7 (iii)] A fuel injection device comprises a valve 9 guided at the top by a spring- pressed abutment 14 and at the bottom by (1), a cylindrical extension forming a pin nozzle in an orifice 8, or (2), an extension 11 having a sliding fit in the orifice 8 and passages 44, 45 for the fuel flow. The abutment 14 is adjustable on and may form a stop for the valve stem. An annular gap 12 prevents clogging of the valve. An annular groove located below the valve seat, and connected by passages to a conical delivery recess 46, allows fuel passing the valve seat to escape. A throttling collar may be arranged above the valve seat to restrict the fuel flow during the initial part of the valve opening, the extent of which may be limitedby a stop under the valve.
