358,340. Fuel injectors. LANG, F., 41, Laimerstrasse, Munich, Germany. Nov. 19, 1930, No. 34825. [Class 7 (iii).] A fuel injector which has a needle valve supported with clearance throughout its length is held on its seat by a spring- pressed plunger. Fuel enters at h and raises a plunger a against the action of a spring d. The needle valve b, as shown in Fig. 1, is formed with a projection f which enters a recess in the plunger a so that the needle is raised rapidly after the plunger has moved a short distance. In Fig. 2, the end a<2> of the plunger engages a recess in the head bl on the needle. A sleeve e surrounding the plunger closes the valve housing and fuel which leaks past the plunger is discharged through the passage l.
