Abstract

524,589. Lamp-holders. DENNES,N.,and METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Feb. 1, 1939, No. 3433. [Class 38 (i)] A ceiling fitting having a bell or skirt portion 2 and a fiat portion 1 for mounting a lamp-holder 6 has a central orifice 5, which may be of square shape, for the passage of the leads to the lampholder and spring clips 11, 12 into which the lamp-holder is sprung after the leads are connected. Two other projections 10 serve to centre the lamp-holder and like the clips 11, 12 may be pressed from the metal of the fitting when the orifice is cut. Associated with the projection 10 are two slots opening out from the central orifice to receive fixing screws for the fitting, one slot being longer than the other so that the screws previously inserted in the ceiling &c. can be passed successively through the orifice and slid into the slots.
