502,456. Rolling-mills. KRUPP GRUSONWERK AKT.-GES., F. July 11, 1938 No. 20540. Convention date, Aug. 31, 1937. [Class 83 (iv)] In a rolling-mill comprising rolls 1, 2 at the lower ends of vertical shafts 3 and each being driven by an electric motor 5 the roll housings 4 are pivoted about horizontal trunnions 8, 9 so that the.rolls can be adjusted to and from each other, as by hand wheels 13. The roll housings are also slidable transversely towards and from each other. The bearings of the shafts 3 are self aligning. The drive of each roll is through gear wheels 6 and 7 and may also incorporate a ratchet wheel clutch.
