[Classes 79 (ii), 79 (iii), and 79 (iv)] In the driving arrangement for motor vehicles, according to the parent Specification, wherein the engine 2 and gearbox 3 are carried by an intermediate body 1, a, adjustably attached to a central longitudinal tubular frame member b, c of the vehicle, one or more auxiliary shafts are mounted in the intermediate body, preferably at right-angles to and driven from the engine or gear shaft, and serve to drive auxiliary apparatus such as a rope drum 7. An arrangement is described in which drums carried by the projecting ends of a transverse auxiliary shaft may be employed for drawing the vehicle forward by means of ropes or for drawing trailers &c. towards the vehicle. In another form, suitable for a fire-extinguishing vehicle, the transverse shaft drives rotary pumps attached to the sides of the intermediate body.
