Abstract

484,423. Valve amplifying circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and FARREN, L. I. Jan. 11, 1937, Nos. 808 and 34118. [Class 40 (v)] In a negative feedback amplifier variations with frequency of the input impedance Xo of the amplifier relatively to the impedance X connected to the input terminals is compensated by the provision of frequency dependent impedances in the feedback path. The invention may be applied to an amplifier in which frequency dependent impedances are provided in the feedback path as described in Specification 484,332 so that the output current or voltage on the load is stabilized and the output impedance is stabilized or matches the load or is less than the impedance of the output valve. The Figure shows an amplifier 5 feeding a load Z and having a feedback path Z1 .. Z7. The frequency dependent impedance according to the invention may be included in one of the potentiometers Z1, Z2 or Z4, Z5 or Z6, Z7. Alternatively or additionally the impedance Z3 in series with the load may be reactive or a reactance may be connected in series with the load. More than seven impedances may be included in the feed back path, and the impedances Z4, Z5 and Z1, Z2 or Z3 may be dispensed with. The Specification gives a mathematical analysis of the conditions to be satisfied for a large number of examples.
