Abstract

515,158. Valve amplifying circuits. RENDALL, A. R. A. May 25, 1938, No. 15651. [Class 40 (v)] A cathode follower valve, having coupled across its cathode circuit impedance a load of less effective impedance than the valve itself, is provided with negative feedback to reduce the effective output impedance of the valve so as to more nearly equal the impedance of the load. The cathode follower may form the output stage of a multi-stage amplifier with the feedback arranged between the load circuit and an earlier stage of the amplifier. The Figure shows an arrangement in which feedback is applied through a resistance 12 and condenser 11 to a resistance 14 in the cathode circuit of the valve 13.
