Abstract

684,963. Valve amplifying circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Oct. 10, 1950 [Feb. 10, 1950], No. 3510/50. Class 40 (vi). In an amplifier of the cathode-follower type there is connected in parallel with the load ZL of the valve V1, to the grid of which the signal is applied, a further valve V2 in series with an impedance Z2, the respective anodes and grids being cross-connected over impedances Z3, Z5. The cathode path of the valve V2 may optionally include a further impedance Z6. The output impedance may be made zero, the condition for this to occur being given in the Specification which also gives expressions for the input impedance and gain. By combining the arrangement with a driving amplifier fed from the same power supply, the output may be made independent of fluctuations in the supply voltages.
