Abstract

478,006. Hydraulic transmission of power. HENRY, F. J. G. July 23, 1936, Nos. 20427, 20428, and 20429. Convention dates, July 23, 1935, April 3, 1936, and July 7, 1936. [Class 69 (ii)] A hydraulic power transmitter comprises a pump 3, Fig. 1, with vanes 8, 8<1>, and a turbine 10. The rotation of the pump raises liquid from the lower part of a reservoir 1, this liquid being conducted by members 18, 17, Fig. 3, to a point adjacent a valve 15. When the latter is open, and valves 26 close outlets 19, liquid is continuously supplied to the transmitter, and escapes therefrom at orifices 20. The valves 15, 26 are actuated by a slidable member 21, and weights 27 tend always to close the valves 26<1>. The reservoir 1 has cooling vanes 2, 21.
