Abstract
474,492. Draught-excluders for doors. ALLEN, J. Sept. 5, 1936, No. 24271. [Class 20 (iii)] A sliding-bar draught-excluder for door bottoms, of the kind which is pivoted at one end B<2>, is actuated by a lever L pivoted to the edge of the door at L<1> and moved when the door is closing by a projection L<3> engaging the door post. The bar is raised by a spring C<1> when the door opens. The bar may be slotted at the pivot to allow play for carpets &c. and has a rubber or like strip B<1> attached to its lower edge. The bar and actuating lever L may be symmetrically made for fitting to right or left hand opening doors. A light spring acts on the bar at the pivot end and a guide C<2> is provided near the middle.
