Abstract
472,405. Delivering measured quantities of liquids. EASDALE, D., and ADAMS, B. March 21, 1936, No. 8516. [Class 106 (v)] Apparatus for dispensing a predetermined quantity of liquid comprises a nozzle c adapted to be connected with a supply pipe c<1> and housing an outlet valve k and a piston f, the arrangement being such that when the valve is raised by means of a downwardly projecting stem r, the supply pressure causes the piston f to descend thus discharging a predetermined quantity of liquid from beneath it through the outlet around the stem r and at the end of its stroke reseating the valve. This piston is then moved back to its upper position by a spring k, liquid from the supply leaking past the piston to refill the measuring chamber. The stroke of the piston may be made adjustable.
