Abstract
297,719. Probst, R., and Probst, G. June 20, 1927. Moving - chamber apparatus. - An apparatus for delivering small quantities of liquids such as ink for fountain pens, gasoline for lighters, perfume, &c. comprises a tank R, Fig. 1, and a measuring vessel consisting of a cylinder 24 containing two pistons 25, 26 mounted on a common rod 23, the space c between the pistons forming the measuring chamber which is filled from the tank through an orifice 29. After prepayment, the rod 23 is moved down so that the piston 25 covers the orifice 29 and the piston 26 uncovers an outlet 30 to a. delivery tube 31, 38 provided with a dispensing cock 33<1>. The cock has a dropping nozzle normally closed by a threaded needle valve. 35. A vent pipe 33 is provided in the chamber G. For use with selffilling fountain pens, the apparatus is provided with a funnel 40, Fig. 6, communicating with a vessel 43 through hollow arms 41, 41<1>, 42, the arm 42 being rotatable in a bearing p so that the funnel 40 can be turned aside to allow the nozzle to be utilized.
