Abstract

468,772. Transmitting mechanical power. PESCH, J. Oct. 7, 1935, No. 27616. Void. Convention date, Oct. 18, 1934. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XXIV] A dynamo is coupled to epicyclic changespeed gearing to act as a brake. Four constructions of epicyclic gearing are described. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a motor A carries a disc P which carries planets 2 in gear with an internal gear P<1> and with a sun 1 which is coupled to the driven shaft S by a spring R. One or more epicyclic trains are interposed between that already described and a dynamo F, the sun wheels being connected by springs R<1>, R<11>. In the form shown in Fig. 2 a motor A<1> drives an internal crown wheel 3 in gear with epicyclic trains as shown, the sun 1 of which is coupled to an auxiliary motor C and the disc P<11> to a driven shaft S. In the form shown in Fig. 3, double planets 2 are mounted on the disc P one of which engages a sun 1, as in Fig. 1, while the other engages a sun 3 on which is mounted a spindle 6 carrying planets 21 adapted to react on the sun 1<1>. The two suns are connected together and to the driven shaft by springs. In Fig. 4 the dynamo F and a driven unit B are shown connected to the motor A by a series of bevelpinion differentials.
