Abstract

447,944. Stays. WORCESTER WINDSHIELDS & CASEMENTS, Ltd., and JONES, A. E. E., New Bank Street, Barbourne, Worcester. March 23, 1935, No. 9118. [Class 65 (i)] In a stay for a vehicle windscreen 1, comprising an angularly-movable quadrant or arcuate slotted member 3 pivoted on the frame 2 and carrying a stay-bar 6 coupled to the screen (by a pin- and - slot connection 7, 9 in the form shown), means such as a clamping screw being provided to hold the part 3 in various positions, additional security is obtained by the provision of means for releasably clamping or locking the outer end of the stay 6. In the form shown, the pin 7, carried by the stay and sliding in the slotted member 9 on the screen, is screwthreaded and carries friction washers and a clamping nut which is operated by a lever 16. The lever has a handle 21 and is formed as a hook to engage over a pin 23 on the frame 2 in the closed position, the inner edge of the hook being eccentric to the pin 7 in order to act as a cam to draw the screen tightly against the frame ; depressions 24 may also be provided to hold the screen in other positions.
