Stays.-A telescopic stay j with a clamping means k for securing a vehicle windscreen a in an adjustable position is provided with a fastening means p for locking the screen in the closed position, the member p being pivotally mounted on one member of the stav for engagement with a pin s on the other stay member. The member p has a fingerpiece q for hand-operation, and it is adapted to engage automatically with the stud as the screen closes by the engagement of the hookshaped member r with an inclined t adjacent to the pin s.
