Abstract

444,167. Fuel - injection pumps. SCHAEREN, E., 32, Florastrasse, Solothurn, Switzerland. June 13, 1934, No. 17556. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 14, 1934]. [Class 102 (i)] [See also Group XXXI] In a fuel-injection pump, a member e in the form of a slide valve, is arranged in the suction or delivery ports, so that upon movement of the valve e, the delivery of individual pump cylinders is shut off whilst the remaining cylinders continue to deliver fuel. The rack p for controlling the amount of fuel delivered, the valve e and the regulator q are connected to arms integral with a boss pivoted on an eccentric, which may be adjusted by hand through the lever w. In Fig. 5 the engine is shown driving a vehicle and the brake pedal o is connected by links and bell-cranks x, y, z to the valve e so that as the vehicle brakes are actuated, several engine cylinders are cut out.
