[Class 42 (i)] Tentering.-The guide rail a has a vertical part b engaged by upper and lower rollers c on the chain, and the body of the clip is arched over such part b, the jaws being in a horizontal plane midway between the rollers c. The rollers c are preferably arranged directly on the links, instead of on the link pins, and the upper ones may carry covers to prevent escape of lubricant and ingress of dust, &c. The rollers c and parts b may be made of or faced with fibre, leather, &c. m, m<1>, to reduce noise. The clip part d may be detachably secured to the link by a bolt n and may carry a pin p projecting into a rubber sleeve in a recess o in the link. Smooth running on to and off the sprocket wheel q is ensured by a fixed guide plate r. A guard plate s may partly surround the sprocket wheel q.
