Abstract

469,257. Finishing fabrics. BATES, E. B. Feb. 28, 1936, No. 5987. [Class 42 (i)] Stockings mounted on forms 11 on an endless conveyer 10, or other fabric articles, are finished by means such as rollers 13, 17 which subject the articles to travelling pressure in two directions inclined to each other. The rollers may be rubber covered and as shown, the rollers 13 exert a pressure which travels across the stockings &c., while the rollers 17 are mounted on inclined conveyers 18 and exert a pressure which travels along the length of the stockings &c. The rollers 17 are kept up to the work by spring-pressed plates 20. Spray boxes 12, heated rollers 16, and a drying chamber 15 are provided.
