CENTRIC SUPERCHARGERS, Ltd., Ribble Bank Mills, Preston, HAYDOCK, J., Dunsley, Four Lanes End, Blackburn, HAYTHORN, J., Frenchwood House, and SHORROCK, C., Thornfield, Garstang Road, both in Preston. Feb. 27, 1934, No. 6360. [Classes 110 (ii) and 122 (v)] The blower comprises vanes 32, each mounted on a pair of bearings 33 supported upon the driving shaft 18, and a rotor built up of arcuate portions 21 which are held in annular rings 22, 23, mounted on bearings 19, 20. The vanes slide and rock in bearing members 34 of non- metallic material. The rotor has teeth 24 which mesh with a pinion 26 keyed to the shaft 18. An oil pump 43 is driven through skew gearing 37, 41 and supplies oil to a chamber between two felt washers 46, for shaft sealing purposes, and also conduits 47, 49 for lubricating purposes. The vane tips are clear of the casing bore. The members 21 may be integral with the end ring 22. Counterbalance weights may be provided on the vanes. Grooves 35 are supplied with oil for sealing the rotor. The inner parts of the vanes may be cut away to reduce weight.
