[Class 125 (i).] The closure for a non-refillable bottle comprises a hollow cylindrical member A having peripheral orifices D and baffle means positioned above the orifices, a sleeve member G adapted to be engaged with the lower part of the member A, a seating H in the upper part of the sleeve G for an obturator J, a float K above the obturator J, a guiding cage L enclosing the obturator and float and a weight member M above the cage ; the members J-M are movable relatively to the member A, which is retained in the bottle neck with its top Y below the rim z of the neck by a sealing ring N compressed between a boss O on the sleeve G and the bottom of the member A. The sleeve G has pins F which are engaged with bayonet recesses E in the member A after the members J-M have been inserted in the latter, and the baffle means are formed by rows of staggered lugs C ; angled liquid channels B are formed in the member A above the lugs C and are shallow to prevent removal of the closure while the lugs C prevent the insertion of an instrument for holding the obturator off its seat in an attempt to refill the bottle. The member M has a reduced portion m with a guiding pin m<1> located in an internal recess P in the solid top face of the member A. The obturator J is held on its seating by the member M when the bottle is upright or horizontal, and when the bottle is inverted for pouring, the weight M drops into the recess P, and the liquid lifts the obturator off its seat and passes through recesses R in the cage L and the orifices D and flows out through the lugs C and channels B ; if liquid is attempted to be introduced into the bottle while it is in a vertical condition, the liquid will cause the float K to press the obturator J against its seating.
