Abstract
490,096. Ink - bottles ; stoppers. NAMIKI, R. Aug. 26, 1937, No. 23405. [Class 146 (iii)] [Also in Group XVII] A closure for ink-bottles, adapted to be turned upside down with the nib end of a fountain pen extending through the passage in the closure without a leakage of ink, comprises a cap 1 adapted to be screwed to the mouth of the bottle 2, a mouthpiece 3 screwed into or integral with the cap and extending through the central opening in the cap, a valve 4 with a number of radial flaps 41 held on to the bottom of the mouthpiece by a screw collar 5, a plug 8 to be screwed into the mouthpiece, and a sheet packing 7 co-operating with the mouthpiece and the neck of the bottle to prevent leakage of ink. The plug 8 normally seats on the shoulder 3<111> of the mouthpiece. When it is removed and the fountain pen screwed into its place the nib of the pen pushes aside the flaps 4<1> formed by the cross cuts 6 in the sheet rubber valve 4. The invention is adapted to be used with a fountain pen according to Specification 488,541.
