Abstract
412,889. Lubricating pumps. PIERPONT, F. H., Oakfield, Redhill, Surrey, and MONOTYPE CORPORATION, Ltd., 43, Fetter Lane, London. Sept. 15,1933, No. 6333/34. Divided on 408,514. [Class 102 (i).] In a double-acting air or gas pump or compressor having two aligned cylinders, an oil pump H<1> is operated by air pressure in the cylinder A which has access to the end of the oil pump plunger through a conduit H<5>. Oil is drawn from a sump H<8> through the suction valve H<11> and discharged past the valve H<13> to a reservoir H<19> whence it flows to grooves in the compressor piston and through a conduit therein to the connecting rod small end. The oil flow is controlled by a needle valve H<17> and excess oil is byepassed through the valve H<27> to the bearing A<21> of the driving shaft.
