Abstract

407,190. Exhaust pipes ; pumps. BUCHI, A., 20, Salstrasse, Winterthur, Switzerland. March 2, 1933, No. 6425. Convention date, March 5, 1932. [Class 7 (ii).] In engines having two or more rows of cylinders, groups of cylinders in which the exhaust periods do not overlap, exhaust into symmetrical and interchangeable manifolds 20-23 leading to separate receivers 24-27 of an exhaust turbine located above the engine. The delivery pipes for the air from a blower driven thereby are also symmetrical. A V-engine with a superposed centrally-arranged turbo-blower is shown in plan.
