Abstract

337,565. Buchi, A. Nov. 7, 1928, [Convention date]. Pumps; four-stroke-cycle engines.-In a doubleacting multi-cylinder engine each half of the engine exhausts into a turbine 11 or 12 driving an air compressor. Each compressor supplies air to both ends of the cylinders of its associated half of the engine; connections 27 may be provided between the two sets of air supply piping. The upper ends of the cylinders of one half of the engine deliver to one admission chamber of the associated turbine, and the lower ends to another admission chamber of the same turbine. The ignition sequence is set out in the description.
