401,152. Pumps; submarines. BœCHI, A., 20, Salstrasse, Winterthur, Switzerland. Feb. 15, 1933, No. 4627. Convention date, Feb. 27, 1932. [Class 7 (ii).] Two or more exhaust turbines 39, 41 jointly receive the exhaust from one or a group of cylinders of one or more engines. Different turbine chambers are served by the groups of associated engine cylinders. The rotary blowers driven by the turbines deliver into connected conduits. In submarines, two nine-cylinder engines 10, 10a are arranged with the exhaust turbines and associated blowers between the engines and the shell. The turbines and blower axes are parallel to the engine crankshafts, the blower portions being adjacent to each other.
