Abstract

400,801. Ammunition cartridges. DHOME, A. and DEFFRENNE, P., 12<bis>, Place de Laborde, Paris. Jan. 7, 1933, No. 569. [Class 9 (i).] A metal cartridge case 1 is carrugated at 3 solely in the region of the powder retaining wad. This opposes a resistance to the departure of the wad, while the external grooves check leakage of gas between cartridge and gun barrel. With this arrangement the front end of the cartridge case need not be strongly beaded in the usual way, but need only be closed sufficiently to hold the projectile in place.
