Abstract

389,650. Pouring-spouts for oil drums &c. SAY, W., 9, Upper East Smithfield, London. March 14, 1932, No. 7577. [Class 21.] A pouring device for oil drums or other containers for liquid or granular substances, comprising a tubular member 1 slidable liquidtight in an aperture in the wall and having a closed front end 8, a side aperture 10, an inlet 2 at or near its rear end, and a means 14 for pulling it from its position within the container to its pouring position, is characterized in that the member 3 in which the tube 1 slides is of sheet metal, and is either conical as shown or is threaded to screw into a hole in the wall, and has in either case a liner or packing 7 wedged inside to grip the tube. The member 3 is dished to receive the head of the pouring device, and a sealing strip may be secured across the depression.
