560,304. Cardboard &c. containers. CLELAND, Ltd., W. W., and BUCHMAN, A. (known as Buchman, A. A.). Oct. 29, 1942, No. 15170. [Classes 18 and 66] A container of cardboard, tin, leather or other flexible material is formed from the body blank shown in Fig. 1 by securing one end 10 to the other end and securing a disc bottom on bent-up tabs 12. A rectangular flanged lid is formed from the blank shown in Fig. 3, folding lines 26 permitting the flanges to collapse. The mouth of the container, which is initially of circular section is, before, during or after filling, brought to rectangular shape by turning in flanges 18-21, the rectangular lid which may be hinged to the body, when in closing position, then serving to retain this shape.and the walls being substantially vertical. The original conical shape serves to facilitate nesting. An apertured former may be used to produce the rectangular shape.
