Abstract

386,107. Road vehicle suspension. MILLER, C. W., Penryn, California, U.S.A. Dec. 21, 1931, No. 35332. [Class 108 (ii).] Fluid - pressure units, each consisting of two doubleacting cylinders, are arranged near each of the ordinary springs of a vehicle and are interconnected by pipes so as to compel or tend to compel the axles and frame to remain parallel to one another. Each unit consists of two cylinders 9, 10 carried by the frame of the vehicle and fitted with pistons 11, 12 connected to the axles 5, 6. The forward cylinders 9 of the front pair of units are cross-connected by pipes 23, 24 to prevent lateral tilting of the frame 7, while the rear cylinders 10 of the rear units are similarly cross-connected. The remaining cylinders 9, 10 on each side of the vehicle are also connected by pipes 23b, 24b to prevent tilting of the frame in a longitudinal direction.
