380,343. Folding and collapsable seats. MANHEIT, R., 14, Prinz Eugenstrasse, Vienna. Jan. 29, 1932, No. 2686. Convention date, Jan. 31, 1931. [Class 52 (ii).] In a deck chair, each transverse bar 6 connecting the ends of interpivoted side members 1, 2, each of which may be in two parts hinged by a rule joint 15, is permanently connected by one end only and is foldable towards and parallel with one of the side members. One end of each transverse bar 6 carries an angle plate 16 which enters a slot in one of the side members and pivots about a bolt 8 while the other end is provided with a bolt 9 engaging a slot 17 in the other corresponding side member and secured by a winged nut 7. Adjustment of the side members is provided by a pair of struts 11 pivoted to the members 1 at 13 and engaging by means of bolts 12 notched grooves 10 in the members 2.
