Abstract
451,194. Folding seats. GRUNERT, J. C. 0., Blackshaw House, Ainsworth, near Bolton. Nov. 14, 1935, No. 31474. [Class 52 (ii)] A folding seat has the legs at each side connected so as to fold parallel, the front legs and the rear legs being connected by fixed transverse bars 8, 9 respectively, arms 10 hinged in the middle so as to fold upwardly and hinged to the upper ends of the legs, a rigid seat 15 pivoted at 14 to a rigid back 13 which is pivoted at 12 to the rear legs. The seat 15 slides at the front on the cross-bar 8, and may be provided with a sliding leg-rest 16. The front and rear legs at each side may be connected by lazy-tongs 7, or by centrally hinged struts similar to those formed by the arm-rests.
