Abstract

376,774. Cylinders. JENDRASSIK, G., 43, Kelenhegyi-ut, Budapest. April 7, 1931, No. 10185. Convention date, April 8, 1930. [Class 7 (ii).] In a two-stroke cylinder, one or more exhaust ports 4 are arranged at the axis of whirl o: scavenging air entering by paral lel terminal ports 3 which may lead into a trough formed in the piston. In Fig. 6 the parallel ports 3 are on one side of the cylinder axis and the axis of whirl X-X is inclined ; the piston face may be higher on the side of the exhaust ports, which may be inclined in the direction X-X. The ports 3 may point downwards, the piston face being formed corre'- spondingly hollow. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a circumferential ring of tangential inlet ports, and either a single axial exhaust port or passage in the cylinder head, or a passage in the piston crown leading to two diametrically opposite cylinder ports. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 219,334 and 308,205, [both in Class 7 (ii), Internal-combustion engines, Arrangement &c. of].
