Abstract

370,568. Spray carburetters. AMALGAMATED CARBURETTERS, Ltd. and BROWN, C., Holford Works, Holford Drive, Perry Barr, Birmingham. Feb. 14, 1931. No. 4719. [Class 7 (iii).] In carburetters such as described in Specification 307,675, [Class 7 (iii), Internalcombustion engines, Carburetting-apparatus &c. for], having air and throttle valves adapted to be moved transversely of the main passage, the air valve when closed engages valve means tc open up a supply of fuel to the engine side of the throttle. The air valve 2 is located within the throttle 17 and, when approaching its closed position, engages the projecting end of a plunger 11 to depress a spring-loaded ball.valve 13 and permit fuel to flow through radial duct 10 and peripheral passage 9 to a discharge passage 15. The passage 9 is formed around a block 4 containing the main and slow-running passages 5, 6 respectively.
