Abstract

453,996. Surface carburetters. MULLER, E. L., 215, Kurf³rstendamm, Berlin. Feb. 7, 1936, No. 3806. Convention date, March 30, 1935. (Class 7 (iii)] Air for combustion passes over the exposed surface of a porous body to the opposite side of which fuel is supplied by a motordriven metering pump. Fuel is pumped through a channel 5 and annular porous body 4 to be swept therefrom by air passing between the body and a pear-shaped throttle valve 10. Nuts 14 prevent the valve from closing beyond an idling position and are carried by a stem 12 pivoted to one end of a lever 21 connected at its other end to a piston 18, the underside of which is exposed to engine suction to lessen the effort required to open the throttle valve 10.
