367,979. Casings and headers for heat exchangers. WHITE, A. E., 5, Quality Court, Chancery Lane, London.-(Andale Co. ; 1600, Arch Street, Philadelphia, U.S.A.) Jan. 1, 1931, No. 125. [Class 64 (iii).] In a heater or cooler comprising a main casing 2, a removable tube bundle 7, 8, a tube plate 6, and a header consisting of a cover 18 and an annular distance member 14 having inlet and outlet connections 16, 17, the apparatus may be varied for different uses either by rotation of the member 14 or by substitution of this member by headers having different sized inlets and outlets. The cover 18 is provided with a dividing rib 20 which engages with a groove 21 in the tube plate. The latter or a flange 5 on the main casing, may have an annular groove 23 which permits of the withdrawal of liquid seepage through a vent 28.
