[Class 106 (i)] A logarithmic calculator and measure of length comprises a steel tape or strip d arranged for withdrawal from and return to a cylindrical container a by means of spring action and having marked thereon a linear scale e and a logarithmic scale f. The zero and origin of the respective scales are in alignment at one end of the tape so that the decimal part of the common logarithm corresponding to a number read on the log scale may be read on the linear scale.
