Abstract

337,943. Banks, G., and Cridge, E. Oct. 18, 1929. Breaking tea.-Tea is cut in a machine comprising a hopper 5 at the bottom of which is situated a perforated circular plate 8 adapted to rotate upon a fixed perforated plate 7. The plate 8 is provided on its periphery with teeth and is driven from a toothed wheel 9 on a shaft 10. The two plates are maintained in close contact by a bolt 20 with a conical head 21. The upper plate is provided with recesses 29 leading in to square perforations 30, the plate 7 being provided with square perforations 31 only. A third plate adapted to rotate may be arranged below the fixed plate.
