Locks for locking steering pitlar of motor car; lock mechanisms, lever type.-The steering pillar of a motor car is locked by a spur wheel b, rigidly mounted on the pillar, engaging with spring controlled claws f which are pivoted at e and are controlled by a keyoperated two faced cam k. Secured to the cam is a disc n which has four notches m engaging with projections t on four key-operated spring tumblers s. A fixed plate q affords additional mounting for the disc n and also carries the pivots r of the tumblers. The key is guided by a fixed plate q and a stop w.
