Abstract

Levers, locking.-In order to prevent the release of a brake by unauthorized persons, the brake lever A carries a locking rod B having a stop C which can be held in its raised position by the bolt D<1> of a lock D, either directly as shown, or through an intermediate member. The lock may be placed just above the brake quadrant E, and the bolt D<1> and stop C may be enclosed by a guard plate. The bolt of the lock may be projected by a spring and retracted by the key, being normally held out of action by a hand-controlled detent.
