Abstract
310,693. Camelon Iron Co., Ltd., Anderson, G. L., and Turner, G. June 5, 1928. Cooking - stoves and ranges; combined or convertible solid-fuel and gas stoves; heat distributors; b u r n e r s, mounting. - In a range or combination grate a plate 2 is provided above the floor, and spaced from the walls, of the oven, there being a gas burner 8 beneath, and removable through, a central hole in the plate. A ring 5. with utensil supports 6 fits in the hole; when the oven is to be used for baking, it is reversed and the aperture in it is closed by a removable cup (not shown). The burner 8 is formed with feet 9 entering sockets 10 in the floor of the oven, in order to position the end of the mixing-tube correctly in relation to the fixed gas nipple 11. The plate 2 serves as a heat distributor; when the burner is used to heat the oven, the gases pass through gaps formed between the edges of the plate and the oven walls. The burner tap may be connected with over ventilating dampers so that the latter are opened automatically when the gas is turned on.
