Abstract
388,159. Combined solid-fuel and gas stoves. AITKEN, A., 72, Branston Road, Burton-on-Trent. Dec. 21, 1931, No. 35238. [Class 126.] A trivet or table having in its flat upper surface one or more gas boiling - rings fits removably against the front of the usual coal or other firegrate of a stove. In the construction shown, the table is anchored in position by hooks 10 engaging in slots in the front of the grate. At each end is a ring burner arranged below an aperture with a cover 14, which when not in use is moved to the position shown in Fig. 5, thus allowing a utensilsupporting grid 20 to be raised on to an upper set of supports. The pipe 12 carrying the gas nozzle is pivoted so that it may be turned out of the way when not in use, this movement bringing the gas passages in the joint out of register and so cutting off the gas.
